The new SBIC partner will be offering support to the ESA BIC incubatees and the wider space business community, including GNSS technical support and more. Matteo Manieri is Telespazio Belgium’s business developer for new markets and is based in Katwijk. He works in the space and defence sectors and is in charge of strategic partnerships. The support available via the new partnership ranges from upstream and downstream GNSS (global satellite navigation system) to big data and artificial intelligence (AI). Matteo is well-versed at providing insights about the benefits of space solutions for life on Earth, including in urban environments.
Digitalisation and the use of artificial intelligence in cities are emerging as key trends in achieving sustainability goals. Combining digital technologies with advanced geospatial data has many benefits including strengthens urban resilience and promotes smarter and more sustainable resource management. What is the focus of Telespazio Belgium?
Telespazio Belgium is well-established in the Netherlands and has an office in Katwijk, near the ESA/ESTEC campus. Its workforce is ever growing, providing its excellence in engineering services and technical support to startups and small SMEs in the Dutch space ecosystem. Our portfolio covers high-tech application solutions in a wide range of domains: advanced services for navigation and telecommunications services, cybersecurity, operations, etc. These services aim to improve the use of satellites for EU citizens and make the most of the data they produce to be more efficient. What technical support can the ESA BIC startups make use of?
A key focus is in upstream and downstream GNSS technical support. Alongside this, we can offer support services covering model-based systems engineering, integrated logistics support and RAMS (risk assessment and method statement). Other areas include: cyber resilient design and cyber security auditing; product and quality assurance; and platform expertise for big data and AI processing for Earth observation applications.

What was the spark for becoming a partner of SBIC Noordwijk?
We want to consolidate our presence in the Netherlands, making us more visible to other businesses so they know we are a solid and reliable partner, supplier or client for their business.
