Will you get involved to benefit from themed sessions?  These events are open to all and will be relevant for space (or non-space) startups or later stage companies!

About the format: A new event series has been launched in 2026 – the deep-dive sessions (taking place in Feb, May, Jun, Oct + Nov). These sessions are designed to be in-depth and interactive, offering multiple viewpoints. Each event consists of a short presentation followed by time for extended discussion, with time for you to ask the experts any questions that are relevant to the stage of your startup and your own experience. Various deep dives will be held throughout the year on themed topics. Other recurring events organised by SBIC include masterclasses (taking place Mar, Apr + Sep) & partner-in-residence sessions (every month), which are all free for the SBIC space business audience to join. If you have an idea for a theme or topic, please get in touch. Stay updated via the events newsletter.

Signals, systems and stories for attracting the right people

In today’s hyper-competitive tech landscape, great talent has options – and they’re choosing carefully. The search for great talent doesn’t start with posting a job, it starts with clarity – on the role, the impact and the kind of person who will thrive in your company. Share a compelling talent narrative that attracts people who are motivated by more than just a job. The result: a focused search that attracts candidates who are not only qualified – but genuinely invested.

This deep-dive session explores what it really takes to attract the right people and keep them engaged as your startup grows. We’ll go beyond job descriptions and perks to unpack the signals, culture and leadership choices that turn companies into talent magnets. Expect practical insights on sourcing your next hire, legal perspectives of employment and real-world examples, and honest conversations about building a place people want to join – and stay.

What you will learn

Three experts will approach the topic of talent from three different angles.

S[&]T will discuss how to find talent and how to initiate this process:

  • Where to find talent
  • Recruitment channels
  • Practical tips

TeekensKarstens will cover all you need to know about terms & employment contracts:

  • Employment law basics
  • Compliance risks
  • Contracts & privacy

Spectral Industries will take the story further by sharing real-world experience with tips for retaining talent:

  • Real hiring experience
  • Lessons learned
  • What works/what doesn’t

Three perspectives on how to attract new talent, what do you need to know before hiring someone and what the overall experience is with hiring new talent.

What to expect

Join to learn from the differing perspectives, which will be presented in parallel. Participants will attend all presentations, which are designed to be in-depth and interactive offering multiple viewpoints. Each session consists of a short presentation followed by time for extended discussions. Ask the expert any questions about the topic that are relevant to your startup and your own experience. Outline:

  • Welcome and information starting at 14:00
  • 1 theme in 3 perspectives in parallel (30 minutes):
    • 10 min presentations
    • 20 min Q&A with audience
  • Each topic is presented 3 times:
    • Participant rotation to get all perspectives
  • Event ends at 16:00

There will be a short 5–10 minute break following each topic to allow for participants to move to the next presentation. Groups will be allocated at the start of the deep-dive session at SBIC Noordwijk. The event is scheduled to last 2 hours.*

*After, you can join the free NL Space Campus Network & Drinks at SBIC starting at 17:00 (separate registration is required)

Reserve your place at this deep-dive session to get practical insights about building a team that scales your startup.
